The Star Spangled Banner

In 1991, at the height of her career, Whitney Houston sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida. This is considered by many people to be the best performance of the US National Anthem.

O say can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming

Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched
Were so gallantly streaming

And the rockets red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there

O say does that star spangled banner yet wave
For the land of of the free and the home of the brave

Explore the original Star Spangled Banner (the flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812) here.
